★★★★✩ (This is a review of the audiobook.) Who knew Barbara Rosenblat had so many funny voices? There is a “Newfie” in this book that she anthropomorphizes with a hilarious “woe is me” tone in his voice – oh, excuse me, a Newfoundland, as Jim prefers to be called! This first in the Aisling Grey, Guardian series is a hoot! Ms. Rosenblat sounds completely different than she does in the Amelia Peabody Mysteries.

I've never read a humorous paranormal romance before but I am so glad I did. I have seen Katie MacAlister's name in many different groups on Goodreads so I couldn't resist give her a try.

"I need to buy more gold!" Seriously, that was my first thought upon finishing You Slay Me. It's a fun, entertaining read. Yes, it had some ridiculously silly moments but I went in knowing what I was getting into so I didn't mind. It brightened my day and that's all I required from it. The sequel, Fire Me Up will be read very soon! ...more

This book was fun. I didn't expect it so, since I put off reading this twice already. Surprisingly, it was a fun and light read and I enjoyed it. I will surely read the rest of her story. ...more

It was a funny book, though Aisling was a bit annoying at points. However, Jim was sure funny. Might pick up another one in the future.
