First off--how has this book gotten an average of almost 4 stars on Goodreads???? I'm about 145 pages into this book and am really not enjoying it...the story is extremely flat and uninspired and for some reason intentionally holds back information that is really a necessity. Mikhail claims he's not a vampire, yet they "feed" on blood? It's never really explained what they are besides "Carpathians" and that if they don't find their "life-mate" they'll turn into vampires...it's not original enoug

Romance was a bit annoying - Mikhail was too controlling, and Raven was hard to like most of the time. I might read book 2.
