I really enjoyed the first book in the dark days novel! It did take me a few chapters to properly get into the swing of the story but once I did I could barely put it down.

Originally read in April 2009, I have re-read it before continuing on with the series.
Mira is a Nightwalker (vampire) who has Firestarter abilities which makes her unique amongst her kind. We join her as she grudginly teams up with a vampire hunter, Danaus, to face an even bigger threat - the Noturi. The Noturi have their origins in the Fae/Sidhe myth. I wish there was more time spent in Machu Pichu, I'm fascinated with alternative religions and belief systems. This does have a lot of potential ...more
