08/04/2022: Reread on audiobook!

I can't believe that I never left a review the first time that I read this. This book was abso-freaking-lutely fantastic! It was mesmerizing from the very first page. I was totally engrossed in the story. I love Meyer's writing style and her storytelling is fantastic. I loved the plot twists and the interesting way that the author orchestrated this unique retelling of Cinderella. The parallels were really exciting to see unfold. I like it! :) It was my first fairy tale retelling and everything about it was new and unexpected. I was however disgruntled by the ending. But it was good overall. :) Excited for the next book :)

Interesting premise and I realize that its a YA book but I felt the 'foreshadowing' was a bit like an 24 piece puzzle. Yeah, you need to use your brain to put it together but it doesn't take very long to do. I figured out who and what she was less than a quarter into the book.

I may read the next one but I'm in no rush, even with the cliffhanger ending.
