I liked this book, but it could have been better - I'm a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast retellings, and this one seemed interwoven with the Tam Lin myth, so it looked like my cup of fantasy/romance tea. HOWEVER, I wasn't a huge fan of Tam - I never felt as though he actually DID anything other than 'kidnap' Feyre. (view spoiler) ...more

3.5 *s. So I'm having a hard time rating this. As other reviewers have stated, it did get off to a slow start. The first 100 pages or so were pretty easy to put down. I'm OK with that in a fantasy since I find a lot of them have a slow start, with all the world building. But once things got going I probably read the last 300 pages in the same amount of time as the first 100. If you like faeries; you are going to fall in love with this book! I would also recommend it for all of the push/pull slow building relationship lovers. This book is paced well, the characters are all intriguing...right down to Alis the maid! My favorite so far is Lucien. Feyre is a little weak in this book - but she is human, afterall... I think this world is centered around Tamlin, anyway. He has all of the interesting faeries in his court. There is one other unknown factor in the night court ...more
