I found myself thinking about this book when I wasn’t reading it all the time, which is why it landed a 5 in my book. The Brother’s Grimms’ Snow White description of Amarantha didn’t go over my head, and that was after the thought of this reminding me of Beauty and the Beast!

I really liked the touch of having Rhysand’s eye on her hand. It was a pivotal moment for me and liking him 🥰 No, loving him! Though, I didn’t understand why Such a beautiful story that reminded me a lot of a Disney movie! I found myself thinking about this book when I wasn’t reading it all the time, which is why it landed a 5 in my book. There are a few things I wish this ending had. It’s petty complaint time:

1) I was hoping for a dramatic reuniting between Tam and Feyre that was as dramatic as the trials. I feel like we earned a intense embrace and him mending her and telling her how much he hated seeing her so broken. I feel like it was glossed over by saying “then they barely saw each other cause he was working”. I ended the book investing and liking Ryhsand more than Tam. Maybe that was the point? For book 2? I do like a guy with an edge, so maybe it’s just me!

2) I loved the scene of her listening to the music in the cell. It was Tam, right? It had to be. I wished there was some confirmation that it was him playing for her as opposed to her hallucinations from being so sick and exhausted.

3) When Tam and Feyre had a moment together in that closet, stripping to have sex without even a word was like.. meh? That time should have been used for him to help her or ask if she was okay, or make that emotional connection again... at least for me. Yeah sure they can make out, but I wanted to see him care for her and shake us from all the “stone-cold” stares. I actually thought it wasn’t really him at first because I was like, “waaaaiiitttt, the Tam I know would at least ask her how she’s doing. Tell her she can win this...”

End of petty complaints!

I really loved the writing style! I wish I could write like this!

Cannot WAIT to dive into book 2. I have my suspicions as to what’s going to happen. *fan girl scream* ...more
