This was a really lovely story of two very different people falling in love. I think it was slow and beautiful. There wasn't a bunch of action, it just wasn't that kind of story. But I enjoyed it like I enjoy the smell of summer rain ... comforting and lovely.

I kind of wish it was only a single book, though.

What a delightful romance! I adored how wry and intelligent the hero and heroine are.

This is a wonderful arranged marriage, alliance marriage plot between sensible people Sensible is so sexy! Really.

They come from very different cultures and appearances and are at first are repulsed by each other but find a fast friendship which blooms into amorous love. Great stuff! A sweet and hot love story.

The world building is top notch, the secondary characters compelling, and the action engaging.

I've been wanting to read this book for a long time. The premise for this story has been calling to me and I finally gave in.

Grace Draven has a writing style that is easy to latch on to. I immediately felt comfortable when starting this story. The plot was interesting and intrigued me. I've heard about this book for years, and finally got around to it. And I'm so glad I did.

Our MCs, Brishen & Ildiko are both Royal, from different species, they are the spares, so they don't expect to rule but both expected to have their marriages arranged for political gain though they didn't expect each other.
