Don't hate me - but I really just don't understand all the hype about this book. It was OK. Nothing special. Pampered girl gets in a bind, chased by horrible and monstrous vampires. She is rescued by a strong hero. Ho hum.

I LOVED this book! My first introduction to Steampunk and what an introduction! I can't wait to read the next book. Excellent world building and vivid characters. Highly reccomended.

I really enjoyed the world building and the first quarter of the book. However, I found it hard to relate to the vamp after he and his race had been so thoroughly dehumanized. I also stuggled to buy into the romance. I may read the next one to see if it improves, but probobly not. Theres just too much stuff out there.
