I thoroughly enjoyed this!

Even when I was upset for Jane at events that were happening, I was not upset with the author for writing them. Jane is beginning to face real consequences for her choice to work for the vampires, or Mithrans as they prefer to be called. She is held accountable for her response to certain events that took place in Raven Cursed. It isn't really her guilt to bear as her action was justifiable, but she shouldn't expect fairness from the Mithran's either.

Vanessa Coutu I just finished Death's Rival: A Jane Yellowrock Novel. Wow, I'm at a loss for words. This is a 5* read for me. Jane is at a crossroads in this novel. She is gaining more knowledge about who she is as a person and as a skinwalker. She is becoming less and less prone to pulling back and hiding her speed and her "Beast". Various masters of the cities are afflicted with an unknown disease and their territories are being claimed by an unknown Master. Jane is sent to a couple of them to ...more

It took a little while for me to get into this one. Jane is a bit off her game and due to the events of the past book she's cut off from most of her support network (including a distance with beast). Once she's back in New Orleans it picks back up and a couple of new additions to the team help out. Once again it ends with some fairly big changes that I'm interested to see how they play out in future books. ...more
