The writing has definitely improved throughout the series though I miss counting the repetitive phrase :)

Most of the story takes place during a gala where some giants try to pull off a major robbery. Even knowing Gin will come out of it okay, there were some nail-biting moments in the story. How is she going to save the day? And there's no Jo-Jo around to heal her! This was a lot of fun and moved at a decent pace but the ending was stellar.

All I'm going to say about the ending. Karma baby.

If I had to pick a favorite urban fantasy badass heroine, Gin Blanco would definitely be on the top of the list. The Elemental Assassins series by Jennifer Estep is one of my favorites. While most series tend to slow down by book 8, this series just gets better and better.

I think that what makes this series so much fun to read is the large cast of magically inclined, yet criminally corrupt characters. No saints here. This is a series set in a city so corrupt with comic-like bad guys.

Gin and Finn go to a special exhibit of Mab's possessions at a museum and run into trouble when it is robbed.

What I enjoyed:
* Gin, she has her own code and does everything she can to meet it and she is very resourceful
* Finn, he is always amusing
* How Gin chose to settle an old score

Did not realize how that this series is such a fast read.

I really liked this book though. Grayson is so annoying! Well he doesn't sound like the Grayson from the previous books.

I especially liked that the book mostly revolved in one evening. :) (view spoiler)

This series just keeps getting better for me. I really liked this one with it's single setting and one night tale. I liked seeing Gin think on her feet and use whatever she had available. Here's hoping Owen's head continues to come out of his ass because I do like them together. ...more

Back to top form for Estep and for Gin. This book was fast-paced and gripping from the start, as it was set around one single night and was 90 percent all Gin. There was also some hope hinted for her relationship with Owen, and a possible new foe to track down. Good stuff!

I really loathe Owen. Way too whiny. Gin should have made him crawl and grovel much more. But I am going to give Heart of Venom a shot before I decide to read any further into the series.
