Amy's life takes a dramatic turn when her father dies in an accident. Her mom decides to move from California to Connecticut, and Amy has to drive their car across the country and meet her there. The problem is that Amy no longer drives because of the accident, so her mother's friend's son, Roger, is assigned to drive with her across the country.

4.5 stars.

Loved this story, and was surprised at how much I adored the supporting characters. Nothing too earth-shatteringly new here but a well-written, solid contemp with romance, travel, family issues, and a main character whose personal journey is the star.

Who doesn't love a good road trip?

A very quick read, with likeable characters, and not too heavy (even with the main character heavily grieving her father's death). 3 1/2 stars. ...more

Probably one of my favorite YA reads of 2010. I love the maps, playlists, and other ephemera that help tell the story. I love all the references to local fast food restaruants...I just love everything about this book. Wonderful.

3.75 Reminded me of the movie Garden State where a trip takes you to unexpected places and you meet unique individuals.
