3.5 stars.I have mixed feelings about this book. Definitely more good than bad though. On one hand, I loved the story - even all the un-pc aspects of it that everyone is hating on it for. Whitney was a refreshing heroine. She didn't have the same old, same old personality of the typical romance heroine. I loved her spunk. She kept things lively. Clayton our hero was a good match for her. I liked that he was a real alpha and took her in hand. That's what a bodice ripper is all about, so I just sa

Oh... My... Goodness! This book was an emotional roller-coaster. I didn't know whether to cry, smile or scream! Whitney, My Love is one of those books that is emotionally exhausting.
Whitney and Clayton were both such stubborn proud people that sometimes it was painful to read their interactions. After Clayton practically buys her from her father he keeps the betrothal a secret so he can try and 'woo' her. Although things don;t go quite that way, in fact they go terribly wrong from there.

How many times can two people misunderstand eachother? 500 pages worth, which must be a world record. As an avid romance reader I know that misunderstandings are practically obligatory, but how many is too many?500 pages is too many. In general I prefer longer romances because you have a longer time to get to know the characters. However, by page 300 I felt I knew them enough. When they got married I thought, how does this book go on for another 75 pages? And when he broke her heart AGAIN (from

I loved some parts of this book, and loved McNaught's writing. I liked the first part of this book much better than the second part. I read along, as Clayton was 'secretly' courting Whitney, while she was gaga over Paul, waiting for Paul to show his true colors, really engrossed in the chemistry between Clayton and Whitney. All along, Clayton brushed off, laughed off and even got pissed off at the gossipy villagers and everyone who said a bad word against Whitney.

Clayton can be extremely foolish, though... It almost made me not love him. LOL
