What Members Thought

So after reading Obsidian, Jennifer was nice enough to write an extra with Daemon's point of view of a couple of awesome chapters that was at the end in my nook. I gotta say, this was more exciting than reading Obsidian. I have always been in favor of stories being in the guys' POV, I feel we get more out of it than in the girl's perspective. Oh. My. God. This was incredible. I understood him so much better as to why he is such a douche bag half the time. I loved being inside his head and seeing ...more

This was a great short of Daemon's perspective during the dance - and since I am on that section of the book presently - it was a good look at his feelings. I understand his character better now, and I am Beginning to think that Mrs. Armentrout is all kinds of fantastic! Did I mention that I am in love with this boy?

Merged review:

I have no explanations to offer, and certainly little excuse as to why it took me so long to read Obsidian. I should have jumped on the bandwagon months ago. What is im

Re-read this book in 2021 and I still love it just as much as I loved it in the last!

Review first appeared on my blog: Book Addict 24-7

Jennifer L. Armentrout's Obsidian is a sexy, unique, and surprising piece of work. Honestly, this book is so hyped up that I thought it would be a let-down--but holy crap, no. NO. Obsidian has a strong female protagonist, an unusual storyline, and well, erm, very sexy descriptions.

Katy, the protagonist, doesn't have the easiest challenge on her hands. Her mom has

Obsidian is about a teenage girl (Katy) who is new in town and moves in next door exotic, beautiful, odd sibling duo (Daemon and Dee).

I really like that at the end Katy stood up for herself and is an admirable female character. As much as she finds Daemon attractive, she has more self respect. She decides she doesn't want a "good enough" relationship. Katy wants a relationship where she has more things in common than physical attraction. She actually says, "I want someone to care for me like my

Twilight with Aliens anyone?

I hope that doesnt turn anyone off reading Obsidian, because i seriously loved this book, but i couldnt help but compare this book to Twilight. New girl moves to a little town where she is immediately drawn to the local hotties. Hot boy tries to push her away. Girl finds out the hotties have a secret. Paranormal hijinks ensues. Girl runs off to save everyone, by sacrificing herself, and has to be rescued by hottie. Sound at all familiar??

BUT, there are sooooooo many r

Wow. Obsidian literally blew me away. I've been wanting to read this book for some time and I'm so glad I did! I adored this book, no scratch that I absolutely LOVED it! It may just possibly be one of my favorite books of all-time. The plot was amazing, it was something that wasn't over done and isn't written much about.

I really loved Katy, she was sarcastic, witty, stubborn, and didn't take anything from anybody. There was a hint of major character

Yet another sad example of plot supporting romance instead of romance supporting plot. Seen it all before. *sigh*

It was good. I disliked how brave yet stupid Katy was during the entire novel. I also disliked how reckless I felt dameon was even tho he knew first hand how risky things were. The redeeming qualities were the writing ... The attraction was handled well and how Katy did have this fearlessness braveness about her. I def will pick the next one up
