As far as time travelling themed books go this book is a discovery. Having read my share of books with the same theme I was expecting Ruby Red to be a redundant read. Suffice to say that I was pleasantly surprised to find my self thoroughly enjoying this book.
The story as you might have already guessed is about time travelers. The protagonist Gwen belongs to a family of time travelers. Each generation has a tie traveler and in Gwen's generation that time traveler was expected to be Gwen's perfe ...more

This book began very slowly (for me). The author chose to create a lot of development, then she picked up the pace of the story mid-way through and by the end there was quite a lot of action and mystery. It wasn't the best book I've ever read, BUT it kept me into the story, it has a lot of funny moments and it makes you want more each time you think you're done reading. I honestly can't ask for more from a story. It was good, simple as that. ...more

There is one reason this book gets a low rating: it's all exposition. It ends when the conflict is sorta introduced? I'd argue that it's not because Gwyneth has nothing she has to overcome, nor is there really anything in her future to overcome. She's not really changed as a character yet, and this book is so bogged down in exposition, that it's basically the prologue to the series. I want more than just set up in the first book of series. Though, I am intrigued by the concept enough to look int
