A glance at the cover would lead one to believe that Neil Gaiman wrote this book. He is the "author" after all. But what did he actually do? He retold the tales. His language is entertaining, but he might have used invention and creativity to put modern spins on some of them or elaborated the tales somehow. He does not do this. I had the audio book read by Gaiman himself. I thought he did a fabulous job of retelling tales from Norse mythology, and I loved the way he narrated them.

Gaiman is really very talented at bringing characters to life. I vastly enjoyed my time spent with him, Thor, Loki, Odin, and others.

Finally finished! Neil Gaiman makes Norse mythology as tolerable as it can be, but it is still a vile and terrible business.

Tom Hiddleston and Marvel aside, I should have remembered how much I hated Thor before the movie, and why.
