Good, but a little short of great. It's hard to live up to Covet, which I thought was excellent, or any of the author's BDB books. Where I think this one faltered was in the romance department. There was plenty of potential there--the hero and heroine were two very likable characters, from two vastly different worlds (he's a former Black Ops soldier with a brutal past and a bleak future; she's an uptown lawyer from a privileged upbringing)--but the fact that the whole story took place in a coupl

It is Round Two in the battle between good and evil, between warrior Jim and demon Devina.
Caught in the crossfire are former Black Ops soldier turned caged fighter Isaac Rothe and pretty public defender Grier Childe. As Jim and his angel companions fought against Devina's wily machinations, will they be in time to save the soul (which soul?) that is on the line?

4 1/2 STARS..I did enjoy the story, it's exciting and you don't know what's going to happen next. JR Ward's writing is amazing as always. She sucks you right in. I found the book to be missing something, I don't know if it's because we are so used to the Brotherhood claiming "MINE" when they find their mates. Don't get me wrong the attraction between Issac and Grier is HOT, there's just something a little off. I was very happy to see Adrian and Eddie in a bunch of scenes in the book. I like them

Unfortunately, I didn't realize this is the second book in the series, so I'll have to go back and pick up No. 1 - which I hear is even better. No one creates exciting, dynamic men like Ward and I wonder if anyone ever will.

What Ward does best is make you hang with a series because you are really invested all of the characters she writes about. I REALLY want to know what happens with Jim, Ad, Eddie and Dog. I wonder if any of them will get their HEA.
Very good book but I wanted a little bit more at the end. I want to know what happened with Isaac working with Jim? Will that end up happening? Maybe we will find out in the next book.

Although it wasn't perfect I enjoyed this second installment much more than the first. The faux gangsta speak seemed to be toned down and I am really enjoying the fight between godd and evil. Between Jim and Devina. SO much so that Ward could have thrown out the romance and I wouldn't have cared. But that said, I did enjoy the romance but it wasn't the only reason to read or finish this book. Can't wait for the next installment now. Yes, I have drunk of the kool-aid that is the Fallen Angels ser

I just don't like these books as much as I enjoy the BDB series.

I'm serious. I'm actually a little insulted by the amateur writing style and dialogue. As if people that like to read smut have no brains. I for one like a bit of smut but yes, I do have a brain and can read a bit more vocabulary than "big-time". This author makes me insane. ...more
