When I read these books the first time I fell in love with Lucien within seconds. I love a tortured man with battle wounds. I love a man who has lived to tell his story. I was a little disappointed with this book. When I started the series with The Darkest Night, I was satisfied enough to keep going with the series. I love series books. But within a few chapters of The Darkest Night, I found I had to put the book down and just walk away. One thing I can say about this author is that even when I found the book hard to read, her writing really is good. It flows.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish. Anya had her sights set on Lucien, the scarred, stoic, keeper of the demon, Death. Try as he might, Lucien could not shake Anya, the minor goddess of anarchy. She was relentless in her pursuit. The sexual tension between them was hot. It seemed as though these two would never realize their true feelings until Cronos orders Lucien to kill Anya and return the All-Key to him. The more Anya and Lucien are together, the more they really like being together. B

I loved it! Lucien is my favorite Lord! Even though I found Anya a little annoying (and I think she was supposed to be) , even she grew on me. I can't wait for the next one.
