I read this book for the first time ages ago. Years ago. Like maybe ten years ago?
I can barely remember it and the series is still everywhere, so I thought I’d give it another go.
I enjoyed it - but like other times I read it, man I wish it had more romance. It’s in third person and drifts around so many characters. I found myself wanting to skip the Mr X parts.

I'm not a fan of vampires. I'm not a fan of paranormal romance, or paranormal erotica. So despite the urges of two good friends to get me to read this, I avoided it for a long time. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed by it, because I no expectations. I expected it to be awful....and in the beginning it was. Their names. Wrath? Tohrment? Rhage? Zsadist? Seriously? Very popular series, there are many others that have summarized the story more eloquently than I ever could, so I’ll jump into my thoughts.
Overall, I liked the story and enjoyed it. But I struggled with the parts of the book when it veered from being a paranormal romance to an urban fantasy story. I lost interest during these parts of the book, even though urban fantasy is the genre I enjoy reading most.

I love vampire romance and this series has been raved about but despite some steamy dialogue here and there, I really didn't feel there was much chemistry between Wrath and Beth. It didn't help that the author changed character perspective like every other paragraph. I found Marissa and Butch's relationship more interesting and unique so I may read their book. Zsadist also seems interesting so we'll see...
