Dr. Seuss is clearly the true essence of children’s books as he writes about life in a playful and lyrical way that children can easily understand. Well, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” is definitely no exception as it is about believing in yourself as you go out into the world. “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” is easily a book that every child should read whenever he or she are in a slump!

Although I loved this when I graduated high school, looking back it doesn't have the same appeal. I don't like that it's talking to a boy. I don't like the part where it says that the reader won't ever go down the bad path. That made it sound to me like if you do go down the wrong path you will not be successful.

I love that it says to keep trying and that you'll fall down but just get up again, that you'll make mistakes but you'll fix them, basically never give up. However, there's a part that

Recommends it for: everyone
I read this book years ago, after graduating from college, and just had to buy it for our girls.

Mar 2012 update: It's fun to read aloud and an inspirational book about the ups and downs of life. We really enjoyed reading it together and my oldest brought it to school for her third grade celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday.

Bro. Stecher (YM Pres.) would give this to every graduating young man with a missionary intent to the book. It has forever influenced how I read the book. I, in turn, also gave it to a friend before he served his mission. I'm happy to own it now and hope that someday my boys and girls can read it with missions as well as their lives in mind.

What an encouraging, inspiring book! It positively breathes life and energy. A must-read for everybody. Seuss uses his light words to convey a message.
