Hell to Pay takes place in the city of Eberia. Not with the core group introduced in Ascend Online.
Lots of cool characters & an action packed novel. It's a little shallow on character development because the focus is to show what's going on in the game world and how the characters are involved.

A great story, widening the world of Ascend Online.
We get to see a bit of what's taking place outside of the village and what "city life" looks like. The story is entertaining on it's own, and there's rumblings about the two story lines connecting in the next book, which would be awesome.

Good Read.
A LitRPG story. This is book 1.5 with the story taken place about the same time as book 1, but is in the city mentioned in book 1. This story is from the underside (thieves or the bad guys). This is a self-contained story.

Another really good book with fantastic world building, but the ending did leave a few loose ends that I wish there had been some resolution to.
