Extremely interesting diaries, giving a valuable account of day-to-day life in Gent (Belgium) during the Great War. Especially extraordinary when you consider that Virginie Loveling, a well-known Flemish author at the time, was already 78 when the war started.

For a more extensive review, in Dutch, please see Netherlands & Flanders group discussion: Dutch/Flemish authors > Non-fiction by Dutch and Flemish authors (messages 4 and 6).
