Interesting...
1. "Punishment usually accomplishes only one thing: It vents the anger of the person leveling it," (p 130). So where do parents go to vent after the kids leave home? Maybe they turn on each other?
2. "Physical discipline is never appropriate. It is disrespectful and teaches children that violence is an acceptable way for people to solve their problems...and teaches sneakiness," (p. 135).
Weird but I can see the truth in both of these statements. My children are too old to spank now. ...more
