This is the third book in the Leviathan trilogy by Scott Westerfield. I borrowed all three books for my mother-in-law to read. She read the whole series rather quickly and said that she really liked it. We don't read the same kinds of books typically, but occasionally we'll agree on something. After I saw that Kathryn was also reading the first book right now, I thought I'd put off returning the books to the library and give this series a shot. It's my first foray into Steampunk literature and I ...more

A good ending to a great series. I thought it dragged a little bit, especially with both Dylan and Alec getting all bogged down in their feelings. A lot more time was spent in their heads than in the previous books, which was okay, but not what i had come to expect. I really loved the beasties but wish there was more to the Loras's. I don't see what the point of them was really, so unless there is a spin-off book (which it seems a good set-up for a few more), one that goes more into their develo ...more

Almost a 3 for how slow the middle gets, but I really enjoyed this one. I'm not sure the connection between Alek and Deryn would have bounced back so quickly, but I am satisfied with the ending, except for the whole Tesla thing.

It's really nice how Westerfeld takes from real history and meshes it with steampunk. I think I'd rate the whole series 4 stars. Definitely worth listening to.

You know what? Well done. I was wondering how in the hell this series would be wrapped up, but Scott Westerfeld made some pretty intriguing choices and I'm 100% ok with all of them. Bravo. ...more

The final book of the Leviathan trilogy. Very enjoyable steampunk story spanning three books with a good conclusion. And beautiful illustrations throughout.
