I received an Advance Reading Copy of this book from Picador. I don't know if it is one that I would normally choose, but I was intrigued by the description. It's a very strange story, one that cuts to the heart of what it means to be different and isolated, to experience love and rejection. The relationships within the story are so twisted and broken that it is hard to see this story as anything but a metaphor.
