The Big Four - Agatha Christie
audio performance by Hugh Fraser
4 stars
This is the fifth book in the Poirot series. It is a series of linked short stories which revolve around Poirot’s quest to thwart an international crime syndicate known as the Big Four. This story just seemed to drag for me. Usually I am so caught up in her mysteries that I don't want to put the book down. But this one didn't capture my imagination or my interest. It's a rather contrived plot and overly dramatic; I expected to see "Dr. No" or "Goldfinger" pop up at any time. Perhaps that was the effect she was going for. I don't know, but it was by far my least favorite book of hers.
Still, the Agatha Christie tour continues. Next comes The Mystery of the Blue Train.

Read it on the Poirot and Hastings omnibus, don't remember much about the story now. But the name is very familiar and I'm pretty sure I loved it.
