This is the first Poirot novel and this is where he first meets Hastings. One of the earlier novels I read by Christie and one of my favorites.
This was the first book that Agatha Christie wrote, and it is narrated by Hastings, who runs into an old acquaintance, Hercule Poirot. This was such a fun book, and I loved the descriptions of Poirot. It always kept me (and Hastings) guessing.
I haven't read Agatha Christie since probably grade school, but it was fun to go back and read one of her homages to old Poirot.

He encounters his good friend, Hastings, also staying in the country while recovering from war wounds. There’s a spy, strychnine, a murder and numerous red herrings. Poirot untangles the evidence and uncovers the culprit while taking a fatherly interest in young love.

I loves me a good murder mystery. Agatha Christie's first book introducing her sleuth Poirot. A good whodunit with everyone in question.
