I enjoyed it!
This is a fun little book complete with tragedies dramas and victories. It reminds of A Prayer for Owen Meany condensed by 2/3! I didn't know in advance that it was targeted at teens. I guess the drawings should have been a hint!
Some of it is pretty graphic so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under 14, probably. ...more

Roll over J.D. Salinger. Sherman Alexie has created a troubled teenage boy who might be more intriguing than Holden Caulfield. Junior, an intelligent boy from the "res," is as authentic as he is hilarious. The zany creativity of this book can hardly be contained within its pages. The audiobook is a thing of pure joy.

Oh, this was such a GOOD book! I finished it at the Y last night and I kept laughing out loud! It's so real, honest, difficult, and true. I liked this one better than the other book I've read by Sherman Alexie because it seemed more realistic (which is ironic coming from a white girl). Very good book.
