Once again the ladies are trying to figure out how to make ends meet. The assistant decides to open up a typing school for men, figuring out that men will not want to go to school with women learning something that is typically considered a woman's job. Boy, am I glad I don't live in such a rigid gender ruled society. No mystery really solved here, it wasn't so interesting since I had expected one. ...more

this is definitely my favorite book in the series so far. i really liked how they are developing Grace's character.

i also enjoyed the cases in this volume and how morals and ethics were tied into them without being preachy.

i'm starting the next book and am hoping it continues to get better!

This is the second book I've read in this series and I really like it. The mysteries are not about murder, but more about Mma Ramotswe's detective abilities and how she helps her clients. I like the slow pace of the book, with the various stories entwined throughout the book.

I like Mma Ramotswe's good natured outlook on life and her appreciation for the blessings she has been given. One quote that highlights this is the following:

I tried reading the paper books and couldn't get into them but I really enjoy the audio of this series. South African Lisette Lecat is an excellent reader and brings this series to life with the audio books. ...more

Another great story in this series. I need to slow down or I'll read them all and be impatient with all the rest of the Precious Fans out there.
Again, the setting in Botswana makes this so much more enjoyable, and I realize you couldn't write a series like this set in contemporary America. Remarkable characters that are universally recognizable as people you wished you knew in real life.
