11 Vital Lessons I Learnt From The Alchemist

1. Love should never keeps a person from pursuing his destiny, instead it should serve as a motivation to successfully see us through.

2. Never give-in to your fears. Giving in to your fear makes it impossible to talk to your heart.

3. No matter how hard, never stop dreaming.

4. Your heart is too powerful for you to escape its dictates. So its better you listen attentively what it has to say.

5. I don't live in either MY PAST or MY FUTURE. I'm interested 11 Vital Lessons I Learnt From The Alchemist

6. People are too afraid to pursue their most important dream because they feel they don't deserve them.

7. Its only the possibility of having a dream come through that makes life more interesting.

8. When you can't go back, then all you need worry about is finding the best way to move forward.

9. There is only one way to learn. It’s through ACTION!

10. I'll also like to point this out; that our DREAMS lies on the JOURNEY more than the DESTINATION itself. Many at times, we get caught up in the striving for a destination. “If I can just reach...”.“If I could just get…” “If I could just make enough to…” This thinking is pointless because all we ever have is the PRESENT MOMENT.

11.I learnt that patience is key factor in the journey towards achieving our personal greatness.
All Santiago had in mind was that it was going to take him a couple of few days to get the treasure after he sold his sheep. Little did he know that it was going to take years and rough journey. Am quite sure he never thought of the idea of himself losing his money at the market. He never thought about the idea of himself working in a crystal store and making some money that He lost again at a later stage to save his life.He wasn't even aware about the war in the desert. He didn’t know that he was going to find Fatima (love) in his search for his treasure. He didn’t know that the treasure was right there were he was but there were hoops that he had to flip through in order to get to go treasure. I learnt that all things work for our good. We will all reach our dreams as long as we are willing to go through the struggle and embrace the hard times that comes with our treasure hunt. ...more

The Alchemist made for an interesting light and easy read. Clearly echoing the philosophical beliefs of the author as Santiago, the protagonist in the story, goes from one journey to the other starting as a shepherd boy in actualising his dreams.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is packed with a lot Of Life lessons that could serve as a guide to the reader as it was a guide to Santiago. It teaches that to achieve ones destiny one must look beyond the treasures and live out daily such destiny.
