I haven’t read this book since high school, and I decided to reread it for the 2016 Popsugar book challenge. It was a quick read, and I think I enjoyed it a little more than last time (probably because I wasn’t forced to analyse every third word for symbolism). It was fascinating to watch as the little boys degenerated into crazy little murderers, although, I would have liked to have seen how the book would have evolved had the boys already known each other prior to crashing on the island, or if

Everyone told me this book was weird. I had no idea that the weirdness would start by page 10 and that it would turn downright disturbing by the end. I think that was the point of the book. But that doesn't mean it was my cup of tea.
