What Members Thought
Very funny and clever. Often absurd. I loved the satire on bureaucracy in particular ("the plans were on display..."). This is a book which should not be read in a public place, as you risk being seen as a loony - it's laugh-out-loud funny.

I first read this classic over ten years ago - in fact I read it multiple times, considering it my favorite book at one point - and I figured I would give it another whirl. I needed a change of pace and an enjoyable distraction from some particularly bad tedium, so I listened to the Stephen Fry narration. Let me tell you, this book ages so well.
