Sometimes I think I'm not cut out to read "deep" books. All through reading this book I kept feeling like there was something right under the surface that I just wasn't getting deep enough to see. I could see all the parallelism that was going on, I was surprised by the few twists, and the author had me guessing as to who the bad guy really was, but it still felt lacking slightly. I got this to read for one of my bookgroups, but I just couldn't get into it. I got through about 2/3 of it by the time we had the discussion. Most of the bookgroup members liked it, and they dropped some interesting tidbits about what happens towards the end of the book, but I've chosen not to finish it.
