I have to share, this book felt that it took forever for me to finish. I'm a usual fast reader- but this book in a sense felt somewhat hard to keep up.

The storyline was based of magic and the Wood.
The description of the Wood is very mesmerizing, which was the only thing that I loved about the book.

One relationship I was very very confused about was Aneska and Kasias relationship.
In a way I shipped them way more than the Drogon itself.

2.25-ish stars. please never ever confuse me with shit like THE DRAGON. I truly believed he was a dragon the first few chapters of this book.

I had heard such great things on this book. Those beautiful words were exactly what drove me to even pick up the book in the first place. At first, I did realize why the book was given such high praise. I was happy with having had picked up the book, but then came all the problems...
The first problem for me was how annoyingly detailed it was. Like, excessively so. There were details about things that hardly even needed a description as well as details UPON details. I love a good descriptive book

This book enchanted me from beginning to end. It absolutely blew my mind how much I loved it and how much I want more. Upon finding out that it's a standalone, I was intrigued. I haven't read much high fantasy standalones, and I want to see how it'll turn out. I'm a bit torn with this one - on the one hand, I'm glad it's a standalone, I liked the flow of the story and how it ended but on the other hand, I want more. More of the Wood changing, more of the people, and more of Agniezka and Sarkan. ...more
