Well, you could knock me over with a feather. NEVER thought I would rate GN above a 1 or 2. This was such a cute MS book. It was written with panels in order, with believable characters, & with illustrations that weren't weird/out-of-proportion/strange. I remember when I was in my 20s & watched Roller Derby on TV. Thought Joanie Weston (SF Bay Area Bombers team & known as the Blonde Bomber) was a beast. Starting MS is a big step for kids - new friends, different classes, new clothes, new interes

Loved it. Perfect for middle school girls- now that I've read it (finally!), I'll be putting it into certain middle schoolers' hands (esp fans of Raina Telgemeier), as I know they're gonna love it, too.

This book makes me want to join a roller derby team! I love the illustrations, love the characters and love the plot. Cannot find any fault with it - I'll definitely use this for RA with patrons of all ages.

So great. So many wonderful takeaways. Your friends are going to like different things and different people, and that's okay. You won't be good at something new right away. Moms are great listeners. Blue hair is always rad. I want to give a copy to every middle school girl I know.
