Absolute post-apocalytpic candy. Despite its YA labeling it is quite grim, dark, and gory. There is the expected romance story intertwined, but it isn't the ludicrous unconditional love at first sight that is common in so many YA books.
Note: I listened to this as an audiobook, which was well done. It was easy to imagine reading it (meaning I don't feel like it was hugely different for being in audio form), and the use of several different voices was effective. Also, the voice actors wer ...more

After the apocalypse the world is divided, the Pure's that live in the Dome untainted by the detonations. Then there are the Wretches. Their bodies fused to objects that were near them during the blast, some unrecognizable as even once being human. The animals, the dust and the plants, everything has been effected.
