I struggled with the beginning of this book. It was like climbing a stubborn, steep slope but I dug in and moved forward. My patience was rewarded, indeed.
You cant walk away from this story, it fires your curiosity. What killed Kate's Guardian? How? Why is she a lone wolf?
Backstory is treated like a piece of fine and rare chocolate, all you get is nibbles and tiny pieces.
Kate was sassy, great at what she did and a total kick ass character. She was decisive - no lengthy monologues or brooding for ...more

Audiobook/physical book re-read 2022
Love my "ehhhh not really feeling it" review from way back when because this author duo has because one of my favorites, this series a comfort read. I've grown to love this book so much-- this is the 4th time I've read it. I like the audiobook, but do think the narrator either gets better or grows on you has the series progresses.

I have to admit, when it comes to Urban Fantasy, I sort of over look them and move on to a different genre. However a friend recommended this author and said it was a husband wife team. So I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. This book set in Atlanta has many different characters from, vampires, wolves, and magical creatures that you will never get bored with.
