2 stars Audiobook: After having this book recommended to me for years by so many friends, I gave it a go. I struggled with this one. It went from being monotonous to semi interesting for me. The main character Joe, was too much inner dialog, repetitive and boring. His mantras ticked away at my cares about the book till there was nearly nothing left. When the book ended I was relieved to be finished. The female character ? I finished this yesterday and I can't even remember her name right now. I

Wow! I just don't even know how to classify this book.... Creepy yet compelling. I am definitely reading the next one to see what becomes of Joe. I may even lose sleep waiting for it! February? Really???

I'm glad that Stephen King recommended this book because I never would have picked it up based on the description. It's a well-written intense story.

I started reading this this morning and I had a hard time getting through the first 10 chapters and it made me realise why. I don’t like reading in second person point of views. I know it’s written this way so you really get into Joe’s mind. But it’s really not for me. Maybe I’ll pick up reading it at another time. But for now I can’t finish it.
So no rating for now.

After 6 months I finally finished this book. It was so uncomfortable to read. My daughter finished the netflix series long before.

I will admit, the author captures the psychopathic relationship perfectly, so she has either a really good imagination or she actually experienced this. (There's a third option: she did really good research).
I know she's written two more books in this series but it'll be awhile before I pick them up. The fact that Joe got away with the things he d ...more

This is filled with so much suspense! I love Joe's character and find myself really rooting for him even if he's making questionable choices..

Why were all the characters so stupid ? They were all carrying big stupid sticks, not a drop of common sense between any of them.
I'm still dumber, I bought book two when I bought this one.
