If you ever think you have it bad, pick up Between Shades Gray. Set in 1942, Shades of Gray tells the story of 15-year-old Lina and her family as they are torn from their home in Lithuania and sent to Siberian work camps. The story draws from the experiences of many who were displaced and imprisoned by the Soviets- due to threats from the KGB this slice of history has been widely suppressed.
