I really really tried to like this book. I swear I remember loving it so damn much when I was about twelve years old. But now? I just couldn't get in to it. Every time Anne had any dialogue (and let's be honest, it was more a monologue) I'd just skim. Because Oh my god, could you just shut the hell up for a minute, Anne? You aren't that interesting and if you'd just shut your pie hole for a minute, you might actually get a chance to listen to others.

Just re-read this book (as an audio this time) while on a trip with my mother to Prince Edward Island. The narration was very, very good and the book is just as delightful as I remember it. This is, without a doubt, one of my official comfort reads.
