Last review: The book is finally starting to show its flaws. Still really enjoy the book, but my eyes are now opened. Perhaps it was the second book, but whatever it was, it isn't as great as it once was. Sad face.

Seems so unnecessary. Sure it plays into Wade's frame of mind, but man, it is really laid on thick. Once the contest really gets going, the book really hits its stride. I find the last 100 pages so satisfying.

Ninth review: Needed a fix after watching that awful movie. Maybe the movie will be better one day, but the book >>>>> movie.

Eighth review: For the first time I started considering what this book would be like as a movie. I really hope it doesn't suck and they keep some of the details. Just an amazing book!

Seventh review: Even after reading this book 7 times, it's amazing how many little details I forget. I've decided I don't think I want a sequel to this book. The world it created is too wonderful.

Sixth review: Amazing how much I love this book. I catch additional subtle details every time. I will say, the book is a little more sad every time I read it. Escaping into virtual reality and leaving reality is a scary thought.

Fifth review: Yep. Still the most amazing book ever. I did see a few details I'd missed in past readings. He mentioned, more times than I remembered, how sad it was that he was just interacting with a video game. Really made me think about reality and what our "true" reality is.

Fourth review: Loved. It. I was able to really focus on some of the minute details. This is seriously one of the most complete books I've ever read. Love it.

Third review: Every time I read this book, I'm reminded why in my original review I almost stopped the book. It has some controversial views at the beginning of the book - some of which I feel is unnecessary. I realized in this reading that it actually is necessary, as it helps shape our view of the main character. This is by far my favorite book ever. I love the story, characters, and the game.

Second review: My second time to read this book and I loved it even more. By far my favorite book ever.

First review: I loooooooved this book. If you are interested in video games or MMOs, then this book is for you. The realistic future painted in this book gave me chills. There were a few times the author got anti-religious and political (which seemed excessive and wasn't needed for his point) and at one point, I considered stopping the book. I'm glad I didn't. I found this book highly enjoyable and I hope I can find more like it. ...more

First off... I would tag it with one less star if I didn't grow up in the 80's (born anywhere from the late 60's into the early 70's - in the U.S., some of the products differed in other countries or were never released), and wasn't a gamer or sci-fi/fantasy enthusiast.
