Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an objective review. I have read two other books by Ken Follett: Pillars of the Earth and Jackdaws. I loved *Jackdaws* and gave it 5 stars. I thought Pillars was okay but didn't live up to the hype and gave it 3 stars. I really love sagas and wanted so much to enjoy the Kingsbridge books.
