2.5 - 3 🌟 for the first 300 pages I seen 4.5 possibly 5 🌟.

My venting....
Omg I'm so mad at this book its ridiculous. I thought this book was going to be another 5 🌟 book for me. But once I hit this crazy storyline after 300 pages it took a weird turn confusing the f*** out of me. To who was once someone else that's now someone name blah that's dad to his grandfather blah blah blah yeah so damn confusing.

This is a really annoying book. It started well, by half-way it was dragging, and by three-quarters through I just wanted to slap the main character upside the head. Definitely an example of big is not necessarily better in a fantasy novel.

Still, the last 15% or so, which wasn't focused on the main character, was better, leading to a strong finish. ...more

The dual-timeline and dual-storyteller style of this book is very interesting. It's also fascinating to see the footnotes become progressively important to the point where they almost become a third storyteller, and are in fact given an identity and a voice. I'm looking forward to further books in the series. ...more

Absolutely loved this! I can’t believe I returned it three times before the final purchase that had me fall in love! Makes me wish I had gotten into knitting before now because this book is great, the audiobook is amazing with the three narrators chosen, cannot wait for more in this world!
