Quite a good thriller, where the narrative shifts from present-day to the past to dole out information, but in a quite organic way. I mostly guessed the twist about half-way through, though there was still an extra shocking bit that I didn't see coming.
One of my friends recommended this book to me, but I cannot for the life remember who it was. If it was you - thanks!

Read it a second time for s bookclub and hated it even more. It’s a disgusting book. Don’t know why I read it again.

This was fascinatingly disturbing, excellently plotted and paced, and is probably going to give me nightmares.

This was probably a three star read for me, but some of the events at the end took it down.

The prison segment, which was the best part of the book, seemed really, really inspired by the TV show Orange is the New Black.

After Geo was released from prison the book went downhill for me. The mystery, such as it was, wrapped up far too neatly. The twist was really too much, and pretty unbelievable as well. Don't get me started on that epilogue.

Really good mystery/thriller! The twists were good and didn't come out of nowhere. Like, all the clues were there if I just thought about it a minute, but it was so well written I didn't pause.

The protagonist was intriguing but also her decisions, or lack of them, remained unfathomable. Though "16 and all the stupid that comes with that" does explain a lot in itself lol. I wonder if her back story is written with benign neglect. Her father obviously loves her deeply, but he's also written as han

This psychological thriller is a whirlwind of the present day, jumping back five years, and even further back to fourteen years ago. It kept me guessing the entire time and it drew me so much so I finished it in two seatings.
