Ok, first off I love this series. With that said, I am not really sure how I feel about this book. There are trumps and tragedies throughout the book. I was expecting some of the things to happen but not all of these. I also expected character growth but I wasn’t really expecting the one with the most growth to be Adam. He was the one that I thought most broken but he was the one who grew the most as a person.
Ronan I felt grew but I think he just grew up. He just became more of what he already Ok, first off I love this series. With that said, I am not really sure how I feel about this book. Ronan I felt grew but I think he just grew up. He just became more of what he already was. He became more caring, more responsible and more sincere. I think he just figured out who he was and what he wanted. Although that is what is supposed to happen when you grow up or at least that is what should happen.
I still am not sure way Henry was introduced other than to lighten the mood a little. I did enjoy him as a character but I don’t really see that he was needed. I get what Maggie was doing because he gave a different perspective. He didn’t have the same bonds that the others had. He was able to detach himself from the group and get them to see things in a different light.
I felt we got a little ripped off when it came to Blue. In this book we didn’t get a lot of time with her. I felt that she was a side character for most of this book. I kept want more from her and Gansey. Henry had more time on the page as far as I could tell. I could be wrong but that is just how it seemed to me.
Gansey was as always the noble knight/king. I am just as much in love with him as I was since the first book. He is still as driven and selfless as he was from the very start of the series. He is going on the top of my book crushes list.
Noah is a sad case. Since the beginning of this series I have felt so bad for this boy. The way his life was cut short and then to see how things were turning out for him just made me so sad. I still am not sure if its Noah’s sacrifice or Caves Waters that was the reason why things worked out the way they did. I may have to reread that part to understand.
The book was great but I feel a little let down by it. I expected more to the ending or maybe just more explanation. I do plan to reread this story in the future and maybe marathoning them will give me a little more insight that I am missing right now.

I must say I thought this was a great series, all four of the books kept me interested and were just fun to read. I thought the premise of the story was unique and not quite like other books I have read. Yes it had magic, and romance, and stuff but it wasn't the same story that you read with just small variations. I mean this book has someone who can pull stuff from their dreams!? I think I would have liked this series much, much better had I read the books closer together. This one had a lot of things in it that I thought were hard to understand, but maybe that is because I was listening to it rather than reading it, but the dreams were more complex and the whole world was more complex that I can wrap my head around. This was a pretty good conclusion to the cycle, but I do wish that Blue and Noah (my 2 fav characters) had seen a little bit more screen time. Also, although I did like Henry, I wish that he had been more prominent in the earlier books, because he feels like he comes out of nowhere a little bit. Now this could be because I just don't remember those books very well, but if I don't remember a character that's probably because they weren't memorable. ...more

I can't say that this was my favorite book out of the series because I always think that after reading each book in this series, so I loved it justas much as the others. I can't wait to read more by Maggie Stiefvater, her writing is as unique as it'r beautiful.
