This book was short on substance or verifiable fact and long on repetition. An account of an actiual murder in Victorian England with the house maid as the main suspect. Arrested we are drawn into an account of her trial to decide whether or not she should be arraigned. Then we enter the trial itself which essentially repeats the arraignment with a little added detail. Cleared of murder and freed from prison where she had been serving time for larceny our housemaid now produces a "true" account ...more
