5.0/5.0 - My favorite book so far this year. The book has a dual storyline, one taking place in the 1100s, featuring Rawiya, a sixteen year old girl who disguises herself as a boy, and travels with the great mapmaker al-Idrisi, who has been commissioned by King Roger II of Sicily to create a map of the world. They have numerous adventures, traveling across the Middle East and fight mythical beasts, as well as marauding armies.
