Well, it's a classic from the Golden Age of science fiction. That means, unfortunately, that it's extremely problematic when it comes to female characters, all of whom are beautiful, alternately furious and shrill or melting with love for our hero, and not recognizably human in any way. There's also the rape victim who is intimidated into helping the hero ( who was her rapist) and ends up having a soft spot for the guy. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

Well, then. I can see why this is a classic (great scifi ideas, especially given it was written as far back as the '50s, which I didn't realize while reading). But it was also alternately difficult or unpleasant to follow at times. And super rapey. Not my fav, though I did enjoy parts.
