I really enjoyed this book. I had read a lot of criticism about the simple writing style, but I didn’t mind it. I’ve read so many overly wordy and descriptive books lately that it was refreshing to read a good story that was straight to the point, rather than a drawn out missive that could’ve been half the length. This is a book I’d highly recommend to fans of WWII historical fiction. (Although, yes, this is based off the story of a real survivor of Birkenau and Auschwitz.)
