Not Wanted on the Voyage took a while to gain steam, but once I was drawn into it, it was difficult to put down. There were issues raised that I will be thinking about for a long time to come.

I don't think I could recommend this book to anyone, especially animal lovers, because some of the images are very disturbing. However, Not Wanted on the Voyage remains one of my favorite books with some of my favorite characters (Mrs. Noyes, Lucy/Lucifer, Emma, and Mottel the cat). The book is a retelling of the great flood (Noah and the ark), and Noah is a terrifying man.
