Two for the Dough (Stephanie Plum, #2) in Around the Year in 52 Books

Appena ho letto l'ultima parola di questo libro, ho sentito un grande vuoto.. A me il seguito!! Fortuna che sono già usciti tutti (o quasi, ma per almeno altri 17 volumi posso crogiolarmi in tutta tranquillità!).
Niente, la Evanovich scala di gran carriera le classifiche e si posizione comodamente tra i miei autori preferiti.. Io AMO questa donna! Io voglio conoscerla, abbracciarla, portarla a casa con me e tenerla come mascotte..
E dire che il secondo è addirittura migliore del primo! (Che era st Appena ho letto l'ultima parola di questo libro, ho sentito un grande vuoto.. A me il seguito!! Fortuna che sono già usciti tutti (o quasi, ma per almeno altri 17 volumi posso crogiolarmi in tutta tranquillità!).

Allora, come prima cosa i personaggi! Indimenticabili, mitici e assolutamente perfetti! Per il titolo 'miglior personaggio' sono in lotta Nonna Mazur, un'arzilla (..)enne pronta a dar la caccia ai criminali più incalliti e amante delle visite ai defunti nelle camere ardenti:

"I need to keep some people under surveillance," I said to Grandma Mazur. "You want to tag along?" "I guess I could do that. You think it'll get rough?" "No, I think it'll be boring." "Well, if I wanted to be bored I could sit at home".

Il secondo candidato è Mr Joe Morelli, uno dei personaggi più SEXI che io abbia mai incontrato nella mia carriera di lettrice.. Mi fa venire in mente un sacco di strani pensieri! Ha fascino da vendere e sa di averlo.. Nel primo episodio mi era piaciuto da morire, ma non era scattata la scintilla.. Ora invece.. Ah! ç__ç E' strano dire che si è preso una parte di me? *__*
Il mio cervello era totalmente disconnesso :D
Però a parte questo suo lato intrigante, l'ho adorato perché con Stephanie è di un tenero quasi da lacrime.. Quando le dà la sciarpa perché sente freddo mi stavo sciogliendo tipo ghiacciolo il 15 agosto *_*
Che coppietta!! Prevedo Graaaaaaaaaaaaandi sviluppi!
Poi vabbé c'è Stephanie, che mi fa morire dal ridere.. Seguire nelle sue strambe (dis)avventure, seguire i suoi pensieri.. Come direbbero gli americani, That made my day! Durante le lunghe e interminabili sessioni di studio, mi teneva su il pensiero che poi Stephanie mi avrebbe consolato!!
Anche tutta la famiglia Plum è bella svitata, nulla da dire.. Che libro sarebbe stato senza di loro!!
La storia poi è assai godevole e la Evanovich scrive da paura.. LEGGETELO!!! LEGGETELO!!! ...more

I would say Two for the Dough is about a 4.5.

Stephanie Plum is still getting the hang of the bounty hunter biz with the help of fellow Recovery Agent Ranger and her ex (I'm not quite sure if you could really call him an ex, I think they hooked up once when she was younger) the hot and bad boy cop Joe Morelli. And she even gets some help from her crazy, lovable and quite the tough cookie Grandma Mazur this time around.
She has a new case that involves Joes crazy cousin Kenny Mancuso. What seems to ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed #2 of the Stephanie Plum series. Plum is hilarious, I love her comments and her tendency to get into trouble. I love the characters of Morelli and Grandma Mazur. Evanovich even manages to make little guy Rex (hamster) into a great character (largely due to Stephanie's attachment). Growing up in Philly and knowing NJ attitudes well, it really brings me back. #2 was even better than the first installment of the series and I look forward to book #3. ...more
